Ever wondered what would happen if artistic masterpieces came to life?
Ismailova Theatre of Dance has set out to explore this with its new show Escaped From The Canvas. Paintings by timeless artists from all over the world will be transformed into dance and theatre works on Toronto stages this August. Intriguing and unexpected, this show will weave visual, musical and physical art forms together delighting all your senses.

Original music and signature choreography of Ismailova Theatre of Dance has moved audiences across Ontario since 2010. The theatre has produced numerous sold out shows and received the Toronto Arts Foundation Award twice in 2015 and 2017.
Monet, Van Gogh, Klimt, Chagall, Matiss, Pollok, Kandinsky, Kustodiev, Breigel, Kenbaev, De Kiriko, Emily Carr and other artists have inspired this production.

Summer Intensive 2017 in Toronto

Spend this summer in Toronto dancing, creating and performing with Ismailova Theatre of Dance!


This two week intensive course is aimed at dance or theatre students who are passionate about entering professional world of performing arts. 

Students will learn contemporary dance, contemporary ballet, floor work, improvisation and physical theatre through rigorous workshops and rehearsals.

Students will be able to participate in creation and production of a full-length showcase. They will learn about different components of a show (creation, rehearsals, lighting, sound, different roles in production etc.). Purpose of the intensive is to prepare students for work in professional dance or theatre environment. 



After founding in 2009, Ismailova Theatre of Dance quickly proved itself one of the most unique independent companies on Toronto’s stage. Its approach to blending dance and theatre continues to move and inspire audiences. After six sold-out productions we are happy to offer our second Summer intensive led by award-winning choreographer Merey Ismailova.

Audition age groups: 
8 years old - 13 years old 
13 years - 18 years old 
18 years old and above

After audition selected students will be divided according to their level: professional/preprofessional, beginner/intermediate. 

Fees: this intensive is for selected students by scholarship only, students will have to audition to get in. 

Intensive dates:
August 12th - August 28th 2017
Monday - Thursday (10 am - 3 pm), Saturday and Sunday (12 am - 5 pm)
No classes on Fridays
Casting rehearsal: August 6th, 2017

There will also be a Foundations program for community members and beginners who will be able to participate part-time or full-time
and learn foundations of dance. Foundations program doesn't require prerequisite.
