Ismailova Theatre of Dance proudly presents a physical theatre play My Last Teacher. Mark you calendars for November 26th, Friday, 8 pm. We have been working hard for this and are very thankful for your wonderful support all this time!

The unique style of the play, bringing together theatre, music and dance, makes it a strong emotional experience for the audience. It is a story about the last day of childhood, making life choices, first love, and a high-school teacher involved in the graduation madness.

My Last Teacher is produced with the help of the RSA Dance Ensemble.

60x60 Dance

Ismailova Theatre of Dance is proud to be a part of the 60x60 Dance in Toronto!
60 new dance pieces will be performed to 60 new pieces of music, each lasting no more than 60 seconds. We are number 31!

60x60 has been presented as far away as Taipei, Istanbul, London, and Berlin, and as nearby as Montreal, New York, and Chicago, and even Regina, but never before in Toronto. An unbelievably exciting mix of performers has answered the call, and portends an intense and bewildering experience for audience and performers alike.

Free dance class - Culture Days

Ismailova Theatre of Dance and RSA Dance Ensemble are a part of Culture Days. Culture Days is a 2 day volunteer movement when artists across Canada offer free activities to the community to share their passion for the arts.

We invite you to have a free dance class on a beautiful Sunday morning, September 26th at 9:30 am! Style of the class will be basics of contemporary dance (floor work inspired by French technique "Flying Low") and an introduction to the Eastern European or Asian cultural dance.

Evergreen Brickworks Community Festival

Ismailova Theatre of Dance is proud to be a part of the Evergreen Brickworks Community Festival on Sunday, September 26th!
We are happy to support the new environmental community centre and a beautiful city park at the historical place - former brick factory in the heart of Toronto.
The performances will go from 2 to 4 pm and there will be healthy food, plants market and lots of fun activities the whole day.

Ismailova Theatre of Dance will be performing 3 dance theatre pieces and RSA Dance Ensemble will be teaching a fun Eastern European dance workshop, so come out to this free event while it is still sunny outside!

Ismailova Theatre of Dance and RSA Dance Ensemble are offering pre-beginner and beginner/intermediate classes on Sunday evenings from May 30th to June 20th. The style of each class is a fusion of ballet, contemporary technique and contact improv: balance, strength, flexibility, giving and taking weight.

This is your chance to meet the Artistic Director and company dancers.

Come see Ismailova Theatre of Dance perform in Spadina Subway during your lunch break on May 12th from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm!

We will be doing 30 minutes program twice in a row. We'll surprise you: dancing and singing, funny and sad characters, a unique public transit experience!

Since the theatre originally started on the street in front of the crowd and not on the stage, we are happy to have the opportunity to bring dance theatre to the TTC riders. We hope that this performance will make the passengers a bit happier and change their day.

International Dance Day of UNESCO

This Spring Ismailova Theatre of Dance is bringing dance to the Toronto's communities, people on the street, passengers of TTC and to the air travelers!
Ismailova Theatre of Dance is proud to participate in the free events dedicated to the celebration of the International Dance Day in Toronto:

1) Catch us performing in the Pearson Airport, Terminal 1 on April 29th from 2 pm to 3pm. We will be performing Classroom Story theatrical rock-n-roll for the first time!
Dancers: Alexandra Howells, Edgar Isturiz, Greg Tikhomirov, Aliaksandra Salenik, Igor Vlasichev, Olia Eliasberg, Lucy Ibarra, Alison Trunzer, Merey Ismailova.

2) May 12th, 1:30 pm - 3 pm, drop by Spadina Subway Station to see us performing in the middle of the crowd! It's an unforgettable experience to have dancers performing right in front of you in the public transit where you normally wouldn't encounter any dance! Come and support new and dance theatre work in Toronto!

3) On May 15th join us for the free dance workshops and performance in the Trinity-Bellwoods Park from 1:30 pm to 4 pm. You will learn fun dance moves to burn any dance floor; will have chance to try traditional folk dancing and singing!

Masala! Mehndi! Masti! Winterfest in Harbourfront Centre, Feb 20th! It's FREE!

Ismailova Theatre of Dance is performing 8 min piece on the South Asian Winterfest in Harbourfront Centre this Saturday, the 20th!!!

Come out and enjoy the show for free!

We are excited to perform our fresh creation! The first part named Photograph is inspired by contemporary dance and physical theatre and the second part is full of oriental, Asian and Bollywood motives.

Ismailova Theatre of Dance is looking for male and female DANCERS and ACTORS for upcoming shows in 2010.


Any dance background is welcome, but must be passionate about acting and dance and willing to try variety of dance styles: contemporary, jazz, commercial jazz, belly dance, ballroom, contact improvisation, european and asian traditional folk dances. For the audition you will be asked to improvise (freestyle) showing your forte. Be ready to learn a dance routine in any of the above mentioned styles.


Seeking actors who are comfortable with movement and willing to learn dance and become a part of dance theatre performances. For the audition be prepared for a dance routine and acting improvisation.

The positions are volunteer with performance opportunities.

Ismailova Theatre of Dance is a new dance theatre company in Toronto. It brings dance and theatre together to express sincere feelings, tell real stories and show touching characters through original choreography.
