Mother Doe - Dance Theatre in the park

Admission is free and open to the public.

Ismailova Theatre of Dance presents Mother Doe: an adaptation of the legend by award winning Chingiz Aitmatov-- one of the most significant figures in Central Asian literature.

A doe, whose fawn was killed by hunters, finds a human child who has been orphaned after a ruthless war raid on her village. The doe cares for the child as her own and takes her to a promised land far away-- the banks of the crystal mountain lake, Issyk-Kul. On their journey they must escape many dangers, overcome their inner demons, and find the courage to choose love and absolution over hatred and vengeance.

The original music and signature choreography of Ismailova Theatre of Dance has moved audiences across Ontario since 2010. The company has produced numerous sold out shows and is a two time recipient of the Toronto Arts Foundation Award (2015 and 2017).
