Ismailova Theatre of Dance is a leading dance theatre company in the GTA that provides unique high quality classes for children and adults who would like to learn contemporary dance, build stamina, improve memory and focus, learn about artistic side of dance, basics of choreography creation and performance skills. Our students regularly participate in performances, including in theatres with professional lighting and sound and create dance films.

What is special about our classes:

💃 Our instructors are actively practicing industry professionals who use their deep knowledge of developmental physiology to create a well-rounded learning experience for all ages. Our instructors have won Toronto Arts Foundation Award twice in a row as well as other prestigious international artistic awards.

💃 Our dance classes keep kids active, build stamina and improve student’s focus in dance, other studies and work.

💃 Students learn how to create choreography and actively use their imagination.

💃 Students discover dance terminology and can analyze differences and similarities of various dance styles and aesthetics. 

💃 Our students study acting for dancers, build their stage presence and performance quality.

They regularly perform on professional stages and learn to make dance films. Recently, a dance film created by our students was presented as a part of New Haven Film Festival. 

Fees:

Trial class - $30. You can take 2 trial classes. After the trial you can sign up for sessions. Each session is 3 months long, 90 min classes.

Adult dance classes:


Adult classes feature a mix of contemporary dance with modern dance excersizes. Enjoy strech and strengthening, cardio and choreography in a friendly environment. Suitable for beginner and intermediate dancers 18+


Award-winning instructors will inspire you with the elegance and freedom of contemporary dance!


Classes are once or twice a week for 60 min. Schedule is based on students' preferences.


Trial class: $20. After that you can register for a session (12 weeks).

Preschool dance and acting for kids 3-6 years old:


Do you have a little artist aged 3-6 who loves acting, dancing and puts on shows for you at home?

Ismailova Theatre of Dance opens a new dance and theatre program for our littlest stars aged 3-6.

Our program is very engaging because the instructor is a professional dancer and actress who teaches dance and acting through imaginative play and storytelling!
The goal of the group for 3-6 year olds is to prepare them for serious dance or acting classes in the future.
The group would be great for future actors, dancers, athletes, engineers, scientists and doctors!
Why?
Because small children learn through movement and play. Our classes will develop kids' imagination, perseverance and focus that will help with any of their future studies.
From an early age children will learn from top industry professionals to move beautifully, efficiently and safely to avoid injuries in dance, sports and everyday life as well as portray various characters on stage.

The program will run once a week for 45 min. Cost: $17 per class.

Ismailova Theatre of Dance invites creative teens ages 12 to 19 to our Performing Arts And Production Training, once a week for 2 hours in person near Dufferin and Finch. Schedule will be based on participants' preferences. Cost: $40 per 2 hour session.
We will open a safe space for teens to create, share ideas, shine their talents and find new friends building self-esteem and learning valuable art skills from award-winning teachers.
From our own experience, it is best to find new friends among like-minded peers. It is even better if there is a project with a common goal to work towards. During this semester teens will create a short film from start to finish by themselves with the support from teachers.
We will learn what roles there are behind production including:

✅ acting
✅ stage movement
✅ dance
✅ script writing
✅ public speaking
✅ music and singing
✅ drawing and design
✅ lettering
✅ poetry and prose writing
✅ creative analysis

Teens will also learn team work and participatory decision making. Teachers will help create a safe space where each participant will be able to shine regardless of their skill level or experience. Each participant will choose their own area of interest to work on.
Creating a film together from start to finish will be an unforgettable experience for teens during this semester.

Looking for acting classes in North York for your child or teenager? Try our super fun Performing Arts Intensives that run once a month for a whole day.


Ismailova Theatre of Dance Academy invites you to spend the whole day acting, moving, playing and creating together. The day will culminate in a performances created by the children and teens with the support of teachers!

Intensive features:

1) Three award-winning professional instructors in acting, dance, performance and creation

2) Participants will work on theatre performances to present to their peers in a supportive environment

"During quarantine my toddler was watching me take dance classes on Zoom. She started joining in, copying moves, swaying to the rhythm of the music. Her balance, motor skills and sense of rhythm were developing at a high speed.

Inspired by my own daughter, I conceived new class series: Mommy-and-Me classes by Ismailova Theatre of Dance - a gift of dance, music, bonding and self care in the comfort of your own home using Zoom."
